Electrical Circuits

What are Electrical Circuits?

An Electrical Circuit is path which allows electrons
to flow. It is also a set of electrical components
which are connected in a loop. The circuit must
start and finish at the same point. The purpose
of electrical circuits is to power many devices.

What are some important components
of Electrical Circuits?

Capacitors – stores electrical charge in the circuit. It also acts as a battery.
Resistors – control the voltages and currents in the circuit.
Transistors – acts as a switch which is controlled by an electrical signal.
Conductors – part of a circuit which allows electrical current to flow through it.
Conductors have a loose hold on electrons so they can move around easily.
Insulators- prevent electricity from passing through.
Diodes – allows electric current to flow in one direction only.
Wires/Traces – through which the electric current flows.
